Hmmm … The weekend is nearly over. Well, it is over seeing as all that is left is hitting bed. Weekends go by WAY too quickly.

I am back on Service Desk tomorrow at work for a six month term (or so). It’ll be a good change I think. I guess we will wait and see.

I brought the Grand Prix in for service this weekend. It was overheating and blowing nothing but cold air out. So, it ended up getting a coolant system flush, new thermostat, new water pump and an oil change. All in all that came to $525 including tax. I guess it is the cost of car ownership so what can you do. Seeing as the car was sidelined for a month that cost me $490 to have it sit in the driveway. I’m looking forward to driving it to work tomorrow for the first time since early December (or was it November).

Baseball registrations start next weekend. I hope that we will have a good turnout and that numbers start to increase. At this point I am not planning on coaching this season although coaching a Junior club might be fun. I will see if there is anyone else who wants to take it, if not, maybe I will.

Had dinner tonight with BP at the Office. I have blogged about it before, about a year ago. At least I think that I blogged about it, I went there anyway, about a year ago.

It is BP’s birthday next week, on the 20th to be exact so I bought tonight. Generous of me, no? Great food. I had beef tenderloin which comes with a cool potato creation and veggies. I had creme brule for dessert as well. I have to stop doing that, having dessert I mean. I have got to get into better shape. I plan on doing that, even if it kills me.

I brought the Grand Prix into Good Year to have it looked at and fixed. It has been over heating. I am just hoping that it won’t cost me an arm and a leg. Guess I will know sometime tomorrow.

Tomorrow is my last day in Support Services at work, I move back to Service Desk on Monday. It is supposed to be a 6 month stint so it’ll be a good change. I am, of course hoping that I’ll get an interview and be offered an alternate job but I will have to wait and see how that one goes.

I have only been at my current desk for just over a year but with the amount of stuff (junk) that is at my desk, one would think that I had been there for a few years. Oh well, I will spend most of the day tomorrow packing and moving.

There is a weekend in between there of course so that is a good thing. Enjoy yours …

There is a restaurant in St. Catharines on Ontario Street called the Golden Pheasant, aka, The Duck. They have an amazing burger, called the Duck Burger. No, it’s not made of duck, or at least I don’t think it’s made of duck. It tastes pretty damn amazing. Hand made patty, bacon, cheese, fried onions served on a kaiser. It is $6.50 and worth every cent.

I am making this entry essentially because I went there today with H from work and he claims that he’s been there before, with me. For some odd reason, I do not remember this trip, at all. I have been to the Duck many times, with a lot of different people. While I am writing this I can think of at least 10 people that I’ve been there with yet, I don’t remember going with H. No idea why I don’t remember. I doubt very much that he is lying, why would someone make that up?

So, today being Tuesday, January 11, 2011 I went to the Duck with H at lunch. We both had Duck Burgers – he had a coffee and I had a coke. We were a bit late getting back to the office. There, it is official and now has been recorded as both a Tweet and as a blog entry. Hopefully I will remember it this time.

I decided to download World of Warcraft to see what it was all about. The install file downloaded quickly enough and then I see that the game is somewhere close to 10gb in size. Wow. And I mean wow, that’s a large download, not a reference to World of Warcraft (I would have written it as WoW). Anyway, I currently do not have enough space on the hard drive of my main computer to download that – it is almost full. I decided to download it on my laptop.

I let it run for a few hours, I am only on DSL here so it took some time. It got to the point where I could start to play so I created a character. I don’t like it from the get-go – it doesn’t seem all that good to me. I don’t really understand how to play, I can move around and what not, but that is about it.

I have played many role play type games before – this one seems damn confusing. Maybe it is just me, maybe I am getting old. Who knows.

Anyway, I give up. I read a bit online on specifics, doesn’t seem to be worth the trouble. Am I lazy or what? So, for all of those millions of people who are enjoying it, keep it up. Maybe I will join your ranks some day but for now, I think I’ll pass.

What the hell happened last evening? Canada played Russia for the gold medal in the World Junior Hockey Tournament. Canada worked up a 3-0 lead going into the 3rd period. Russia scored 5 unanswered goals in the 3rd (in around 14 minutes total) to take the game from us? What? Huh? Are you serious? I will say that was likely the biggest fold of a team that I have ever seen in hockey. Not sure exactly what happened, however, I do remember that it is only a game. Team Canada did have a great tournament.

I watched the game at Boston Pizza – the place was packed. In the last few minutes of the game, it was silent. I really think that people were in shock.

I’ve decided to try out World of Warcraft. I am currently downloading it on my laptop, it is a 10gb download … I think that I would have been better off purchasing the game and installing it that way. Well, at least I don’t have any download restrictions, it is just going to take a bit of time. I am not sure if I will like it or not but from what I have seen and heard, it looks like something that I will enjoy. Not exactly sure how much it costs to play, doesn’t look too expensive though.

I am in a waiting period for something else. I am not going to mention what at the moment since I really don’t know who reads this. I can’t entirely trust everyone. I did receive acknowledgement that it was received so that is a good thing and for now, I will leave it at that.

Canada play Russia tonight for the gold medal in the World Juniors. Good luck Canada, beat those damn commies again and take back the gold. I think that I’ll be watching the game at Boston Pizza – hopefully it won’t be too packed. Seeing it live would have been fun but would also have been overly expensive.

I recently started watching Corner Gas on the Comedy Network. It is on at 8pm (EST) weekdays. I am not sure why I never watched it during its 6 year run on CTV, I really wish I had.

Well, the Comedy Network has just played all of the episodes in order, it started on New Years Eve at 5pm and it just ended now, January 2 at 10:30PM. That would be 2 days, 5 hours, 30 minutes. I watched at least 20 hours or so of it, likely more than that over that time period. I still have a lot of catching up to do.

I have to say, it is an excellent show. I couldn’t possibly watch something that long if it wasn’t enjoyable.

If you haven’t ever watched it, I would strongly suggest it. It is awesome.

Well, it is the end of the year. 2010 wasn’t all that bad I guess, it seemed to go by pretty quickly.

I suppose that work could have been better, but, what the heck. I am hoping that I will at least get an interview for the new job that I have applied for. Wish me luck. If not, I am returning to SD at work which is ok by me. I do need a change though.

I returned to coaching in St. Catharines. It was a fairly good season, didn’t care for practices this year, AT ALL. I’ve decided that I am not going to coach the NDBA Bantam club in 2011. Hopefully someone else will step forward assuming that there is a club (B team) for a majority of the boys to play on. I am not sure if DV is going to apply for one of the teams or not. Oh well, guess we will wait and see.

I wonder what 2011 will bring …

Merry Christmas and all that crap. Yeah, sure. Humbug, how’s that?

I have enjoyed the last 5 days as I have been off of work. Back in tomorrow morning for 2 days and then another 4 days off. Not a bad deal really. It’ll be slow at work since most of the staff will be off. I need to rebuild my OS and software on my PC, it has been acting “oddly” for a bit now.

Went to J&D’s for xmas dinner, good meal as always. The extended family was there as well, 8 of us in total.

I’ve applied for a new job with Haldimand County, Network Admin type job. It doesn’t close until the middle of January. I don’t think my chances are all that good but, I can’t get it if I don’t apply. I would be working out of Cayuga which is about an hours drive from here. I’d start out with commuting and see how that goes but I think that if I did get the job I would move out that direction. Wish me luck.
