That was basically a weekend of nothing.

On Saturday, I took the dogs to the dog park in the morning and then watched three baseball games. First up was the Jays @ Twins, the Jays won in convincing fasion. The Astros @ Red Sox was next and it was a great game with the Astros coming out on top. For the tri-fecta, it was the Braves @ Rockies, and, in typical fashion, the Rockies got pounded.

Now, I must note that the Rockies are doing significantly better this year than they did last year, but they are still not “there”. I don’t think they are actually at the bottom of the division, but making the play-offs is a long shot. A real long shot.

All three of the teams that I like (Astros, Rockies, Jays) are all struggling this season. It’s still early in the season and I suspect that the Astros and Jays will do well and both may make the play-offs yet, time will tell.

Sunday was another relaxing day. The dogs and I went down to Shouldice Park, I figured they would want to go to the river and splash about but both stayed dry. Apollo goes off on his own, exploring and making friends with other dogs and returns to us every few minutes. Twix sticks close and is always within sight. I am glad Apollo always comes back at least.

I had planned on going to the grocery store, but that didn’t materialize. I do need to go today to get some stuff for the week. I have a friend from Ontario visiting and she arrives Tuesday evening. We have a week of exploring planned.

I basically was a vegetable yesterday, it was a nice and relaxing day.

It would seem, perhaps, that my insomnia is going away. I am not counting my chickens before they hatch, but I went to bed at 10 last night and slept until 5 this morning. That’s the longest I have slept in a few months.

Back to umpiring this evening in a u22 game for Calgary North, behind the plate. I would like to avoid getting hit in the mask if the Baseball Gods can grant that simple wish. Another game on Wednesday and then off until Sunday morning.
