My new place is finally setup and organized, well, almost. I am 90-95% complete now. I got stalled because someone is using my storage locker and I cannot get the stuff that needs to go in there, there. I sent an email to the Property Management people to let them know and I am hoping for a reply today. There are a couple of empty storage lockers so maybe I can take one of them. Who knows?
My new cleaning lady came on Friday afternoon. She did an amazing job. The one that I had used at the old place twice or three times and at the new place twice has quit, I suppose. The last time she was here was the night that Team Canada played Team USA in the World Baseball Classic. I went across the road to the Pub to watch – there wasn’t much to watch unless you wanted the USofA to win. Anyway, I didn’t bring my phone with me either, odd, but it happens occasionally. It’a nice being “off grid” once in a while.
She texted and called me no less than 10 times asking where her payment was – I owed her $60 some dollars for the cleaning as we went to Costco together and I paid since she had no money. When I got home, she continued to call and text and even had her daughter call me – where’s my money? It was beyond annoying. I put the phone on DND and went to bed around 10pm. I sent an e-transfer when I woke up around 3am and I texted her that it had been sent. No reply, no nothing – interesting.
A week or so later, I texted her and said I would need my house key back and provided my address for her to mail it to me. I also said I could pick it up, or she could drop it off. I presumed she wasn’t coming back to clean again, this past Friday should have been her next day. I happened to be checking my mail box and someone was in the building off to an apartment to clean, so I asked if she’d like to be my new cleaning person. Well, she started Friday. I wasn’t entirely sure if I’d have both here or not, but I didn’t. She did a great job on Friday – I better send her an e-transfer before she has her son call me. LOL.
My new couch was delivered on Friday right around 5pm. They were quick, in and out and didn’t damage anything. It’s super comfy, the floor model in the store was quite a bit softer, obviously has had numerous people sitting on it. It’s brown and microfibre and I love it, so do the dogs. I purchased it at Ashley Furniture and they have a great reputation and most of their stuff is made in Canada which is a nice change. The couch was $899. I was supposed to get the love-seat as well but determined it won’t fit in my space so I decided against that. I also have, I think, decided against moving into a larger space – I am content with my 1 bedroom and den with a single bathroom. Why pay more? No reason to…
The weekend was pretty relaxing. I still haven’t been sleeping well at all, unfortunately. I will survive and this bout of insomnia will go away eventually as well. I ate out far too often.
Back to The Bench this morning and get some training under my belt. Have a good week.
