On Thursday I text messaged my new landlady to let her know that I had sent an e-transfer for my rent for December 15 – January 14. She thanked me and asked if I’d be interested in moving in early as the previous tenants had already left.

Well, for sure I would be. I’ve been in the trailer for the last 7 weeks without running water and sewer. I don’t mind roughing it when I’m camping, but, I guess I don’t like that type of camping for quite that long. So I said yes, I can definitely move in early.

So, I cancelled my e-transfer and sent a new one and got back on a monthly payment schedule so I’m now back to normal paying the first of the month.

I had to scramble to change my U-Haul trailer rental, that wasn’t a problem at all and I contacted the guy I was getting plastic moving boxes from and he thought he was delivering this Friday anyway so it all worked out.

I met just before 4pm on Friday and got the keys and did a walk through. I unloaded what was in the back of the truck and headed back to the trailer to await one of the guys who works for me to assist with my BBQ and freezer. We got everything in place and then went out to grab a bite to eat, an amazing local Indian place called Gate of India, amazing food.

I go and pick up the trailer at 8 this morning, load up my stuff and fully move into the house. It’ll be a tiring day, but well worth it.

I’ll store the trailer for the winter and decide what to do with it in the spring. The used trailer market is hot right now, so selling is an option, I guess I’ll see come spring.

For now, I’ll enjoy being in a house again and having the conveniences of city living. I’ll think about camping next year, bit not on a permanent basis. Too bad that the experiment failed on me but I’m glad that I tried it. I’m happy to be back in civilization.
