The weekend is here.  It was a long week in some ways and yet in others the week went by very quickly.

I found out that a good friend didn’t get a job that EVERYONE thinks she earned and deserves comment deleted by author.  I don’t understand the reasoning behind it.  She will be with us until the end of the year and then will return to the labour pool.  Really sucks.  I am sure that she will find something else comment deleted by author pretty quickly, any of the departments should be happy to get her – comment deleted by author our loss.

So, this happens last week and this week she discovers that her cat has diabetes – the tests, etc., are really expensive – the cat was put down…  😦  Talk about a couple of bad blows in 2 weeks.  Life sometimes sucks.  I am sure that she will pick herself up and all will be well.

I know that the time will come when I will have to put Zeus down – I am hoping it never will though.  Better that he die in his sleep – I think that will be easier…  Not something that I want to spend a lot of time thinking about…

On another note, my passport arrived today.  I only applied to it last Thursday so that has to be some sort of record.  I am now free to travel, pretty much anywhere I want.  This will at least open the door for my trip to the States in about a month.  I am looking forward to getting away and relaxing a bit.  I am sure that the weather will be an improvement over what we normally get in St. Catharines that time of year.

Anyway, no real plans this weekend.  I do plan on sleeping in tomorrow – I feel like I have some catching up to do.
